URS of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah(R.A)
The two day Urs of Hazrat Baba Ghulam Shah
Badshah(R.A) is celebrated on 10th of Muharram every
year by performing "Ghusal ceremony" at the shrine of
Baba Ghulam Shah(R.A), laying a Chaddar and offering
Fateha.
Few functions and ceremonies commence on 9th and
10th days of Muharram in which a khatam Sharief and
Duwa programme take place during the intervening night of
9th and10th of Muharram this is considered to be a very
important night.
After the early morning prayer, people
start gathering at the Shrine. On that day a special Langer
(namkeen/sweet Pulao) is served at the shrine and every
devotee takes it to seek the blessing.
Hamad/Naat/Kirat Majlis
Naat/hamad and Qirat competition have been started first time in the history of URS on 10th of Oct. 2016. A Naat/hamad/QiratCompetition takes place on the first day of Urs i.e. the 9th day of the month of Muharram in which all the Maddarsas from PirPanjal Range(Rajouri Poonch) takes participation.
Eid-ul-Fitar
Eid-ul-Fitar festival is an important festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Islamic holy month of fasting (Ramadan). People starts gathering at the Shrine and Eid al-Fitar begins with a prayer of two rakats followed by a sermon (khutbah). On that daya special Langer (namkeen/sweet Pulao)is served at the shrine and every devotee takes it to seek the blessing.
Eid-ul-Adha
In the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the dates vary from year to year drifting approximately 11 days earlier each year. People starts gathering at the Shrine and Eid al-Adha begins with a prayer of two rakats followed by a sermon (khutbah). On that day a special Langer (namkeen/sweet Pulao)is served at the shrine and every devotee takes it to seek the blessing.
